Located in Karachi, Pakistan, the Rotary Club of Karachi boasts Aziz Memon as an esteemed member. Memon holds the position of Chair at the Kings Group, a renowned conglomerate of textile and ready-made garment manufacturing and exporting companies in Pakistan. His influence extends beyond the business realm, as he serves as the honorary consul general of the Republic of Suriname in Pakistan and holds significant roles in various organizations dedicated to community development and assistance.

Memon’s leadership in polio eradication has garnered widespread recognition since his Rotary journey began in 1995. He has actively contributed to Rotary’s efforts as a member of the International PolioPlus Committee and as chair of the Pakistan PolioPlus Committee. Collaborating closely with Rotary’s esteemed partners such as UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and government officials, Memon has rallied support from religious scholars, celebrities, business leaders, and Rotarians worldwide. His unwavering dedication to polio eradication earned him the prestigious Louis Pasteur Medal from the Institut Pasteur, among other accolades.

Throughout his Rotary tenure, Memon has held various leadership positions within the organization. He has served as a training leader, committee member, and RI president’s representative, leveraging his expertise and influence to advance Rotary’s mission. One of Memon’s most cherished Rotary projects involved raising over $400,000 with his club to establish an English-language instruction school for 4,000 children in an impoverished area of Karachi.

Memon’s remarkable contributions have not gone unnoticed, as he has received esteemed awards such as the Service Above Self Award, the International and Regional Service Awards for a Polio-Free World, and The Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award and Citation for Meritorious Service. His humanitarian and community service endeavors were further recognized when he was bestowed the prestigious Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan. Alongside his wife, Samina, Memon proudly holds the distinction of being Chair’s Circle members of the Arch Klumph Society, highlighting their significant contributions to Rotary’s initiatives.
